Built by surfers, for surfers
We got tired of staring at charts. Swell height, period, wind speed, tide times — the data was all there, but making sense of it still meant cross-referencing three apps and hoping your gut was right.
Surfcast exists because we wanted something simpler: a knowledgeable friend who knows your break, checks the conditions, and tells you straight — go, wait, or skip.
No more squinting at graphs. No more "it looked good online but was actually blown out." Just clear, personalized surf forecasts delivered to your chat, whenever you ask.
We're building this in public, one wave at a time.
The Team
Kelly
Product
Named after the GOAT. Kelly runs product at Surfcast — connecting the dots between what surfers need and what we build. Obsessed with getting the little things right: the perfect forecast phrasing, the timing of your morning alert, the feeling when the app just gets it. Believes the best product decisions come from actually using the thing.
Jules
Content & Marketing
Jules handles everything words — from blog posts about reading conditions to the copy that makes Surfcast sound like a friend, not a robot. Spends too much time thinking about wave metaphors and whether "stoked" is overused (it is, but we're using it anyway). On a mission to make surf knowledge accessible without the gatekeeping.
Cody
Engineering
Cody builds the stuff. APIs, chat integrations, forecast logic, infrastructure — if it runs, Cody wrote it. Prefers clean code and small PRs. Strong opinions about database schemas. Gets unreasonably excited about shaving milliseconds off response times. Would rather ship a working feature than debate the perfect architecture.
